If the world is still judge by the law, someone like me would have been dead long time ago but because we are judge through grace; that is the sole reason someone like me still exist because we’re not perfect.
A story about a bitter family – Christian story
I was at home one saturday morning, I could remember on the 4th of April, 2024 when I was planning on taking my student at their respective homes before my dad told me to go and work with him. At first, I don’t know where he was taking me to go and work with him until I discovered it was our pastor place. We did some troubleshooting at his place, we later detected that is changeover switch was faulty, so we did replace it with a new one. After we were done and wanted to go, my dad got a call and he shouted which made us perplexed. He later told us his brother just called telling him how he got beaten by his children as if that wasn’t enough, they also went further to threaten him that they will kill him if he don’t leave the house for them. This was unbelievable to hear that his children wrestled with him from 10 am till 3 in the afternoon, as if that was not enough, still asking the father to leave their father house and go to his own father house. Is that not funny enough?
I tried to survey the main reason of the incident, which I later discovered. My dad took is car immediately and went to his uncle place, as we descend from the car we took to their house. On reaching there, my dad told me to stay at one of his aunt shop. I think he thought the place won’t be okay for me to stay, seeing the children of his brother’s; not reasonable enough for beating their father.
So I stayed with his aunt, the aunt started saying all kinds of word against the father, talking about his flaws, for not correcting his children when they were still a child appropriately. Quoting the book of the law which says “train up your child in the way of the lord and when he is old he’ll not depart from it“. I kept knodding my head to every word she say because I really got no choice, if I want to continue the conversation with her.
From my observation this was my conclusion, that the father caused all the problem. The children has become unserious and unambitious for the children has started smoking and involving themselves in cultism at an early age because of failed training. And also the tearing away of the man and woman has also complicated the whole issue, resulting to all the children expectially the firstborn being a dropout

But the truth of the matter is the word BITTERNESS. The children has experienced bitterness through their father, who have no choice but to let their mother leave them at an early age due to she wanted to marry a rich chief. The bitterness of not succeeding, having no mother and a having a drunkard as their father caused them to become such a nuisance.
The father too who is encaving a bitter heart for his wife neglecting his love for money. Truly the saying that goes ” once there is no enemy within the enemy outside can do nothing“. This enemy called bitterness have encapsulated hatred in the eyes of the family, covering their eyes to see the real enemy. That is why it’s very good to read motivational book because there will be a certain point of your life you’ll hit rock bottom due to the enemy within, you need something to lift you back on your feet then. If you can remember the saying that says ” There is a thinking stuff from which all things are made and which, in its original state, permeates, penetrates and fills the interspace of the universe“.
A thought in the substance produces the thing that is image by the thought. Albert Einstein say, “we can’t solve our problem with the same thinking we use in creating them“. You see!! Anything you think of you become. The first thing enemy try to fight you his your thinking, nothing else.
Now what an average man may notice was the cause is because of poverty present in the family, but truth be told, the poverty only hang around the family because it has bear its fruit of anger, resentment, unforgiveness and many more. The only solution is to deal with the real enemy BITTERNESS
Bitterness. When an individual harbors bitterness, they concentrate on the wrongdoings of others while remaining unaware of their own faults. Those who are bitter can vividly recall conversations, words, and specific details related to the people or events that have hurt them. Bitterness has a sharp memory for these particulars. A person consumed by bitterness often justifies their own innocence while condemning those who have caused them pain. It is possible that a bitter individual has genuinely suffered from a grave injustice. Nevertheless, allowing this injury to fester without healing can be perilous. A bitter person lives in torment and is held captive by past experiences. The encouraging news is that any follower of Jesus Christ does not need to remain in bitterness. Regardless of the offense, suffering, or injustice faced, healing is attainable.
The good news is that no one has to be bitter! Jesus Christ offers the power to stop bitterness before it starts and heal wounded hearts no matter how great the offense. Forgiveness is the key. Part of Jesus’ coming into the world was to “destroy the works of the devil,” (see 1 John 3:8b). Bitterness is a work of our flesh that the devil loves to exploit. Jesus came so that we could be truly free! In the next post I’ll discuss some keys to destroy bitterness and live a life of freedom.
